Description

This modular light box allows for fantastic photographs of absolutely everything. Moreover, its modular nature allows the light box to be any size that you require in width, length, and height. I have included some example photographs above, which have been taken with an S20+ phone camera. This project requires very basic soldering skills and the following hardware:

  • LED Light Strips (white light)
  • 1 Amp 12V power supply.
  • Cables
  • Milky plexiglass
  • Foam board
  • Background paper
  • Soldering Equipment
  • All of these can easily be sourced locally. A hole needs to be drilled at a convenient place in the light box for the cables to exit it.

    Important Building Instructions:

Notes: No supports needed, small amounts of post processing of the corner pieces required. Printing with a 0.8mm nozzle is highly recommended to speed up the process.

  • Start with the bottom frame and use small amounts of hot glue to to combine the entire frame.
  • Add all the necessary cables and LED strips.
  • Mount the Vertical modules and hot glue the LED strips to them.
  • Combine the top frame like the bottom frame.
  • Insert the background paper and the foam board on all sides.
  • Place the top frame onto the rest of the light box and do not hot glue the two parts together for easy changing of the background paper.
  • Sizing:

The horizontal and vertical pieces are 150mm each plus the connector of 20mm.

The corner pieces add 30mm to both the length and width of the light box. They do not add anything to its height.
