My house has vinyl windows and I often opened the windows back and forth to ventilate the windows. The crank on one of the windows broke. Luckily I was able to find an article on How to Install Window Cranks https://thwindowsdoors.com/how-install-replacement-window-cranks/ and it really helped me solve the problem. If your home has vinyl windows, you should read this article to know how to make repairs if the need arises.
