SummaryLike a few people on thingiverse, I have been using hardware store cord reels (PN 280-984 from Home Depot) for a filament spool.
This is a quarter turn fastener to allow you to reassemble the cord reel after drilling out the 3 snap in fasteners on the frame around the spool.
I can't guarantee that the dimensions will work with your particular reel but they seem to with mine.InstructionsPrint out the two parts (either separately or together or 3 of each at once).
Push the fastener into the handle and secure with glue if necessary.
You may have to clean up the slot in frame of the reel to get the fastener to fit through (It looked on mine like the pin had been melted on a little when it was assembled).
Now you can take apart the spool and slide a roll of plastic on there whenever you want!
You can also print out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5792 to clip the spool to the top of your makerbot
