Description
SummaryThe wife asked me for a towel ring. As most of you know, when your significant other asked you for a 3D print, it means they're starting to accept that it's cool, so I was pumped!
This is a remix of a towel ring. When I printed that ring, the first thing I did was break the portion holding the ring right at the base of the plate. I took it in to Sketchup and extended the connection to add strength. Now it works perfectly. I advise a 20% infill as that connection portion will print almost hollow at 10% and you lose strength in that joint.
I printed this first in PLA as a proof of concept and then in Hatchbox Wood PLA. I then sanded with 60 grit, stained with Minwax Red Mahogany Stain pen, and finished with Varathane water based Crystal Clear Polyurethane.
