Description

Summary This is a custom chess set with all pieces topped by the head of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump allowing you to pit one against the other in a no-holds-barred chess match in the comfort of your own living room. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Custom Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .15mm Infill: 0% Notes: I print using a .30mm nozzle, 0% infill, 0 bottom fill layers and 10-12 perimeters (using Simplify3D). This leaves a nice indentation in the bottom of the piece into which I place some some heavy material such as small fishing weights and secure it with glue or epoxy. I then finish the bottom off with a round piece of felt secured with double sided sticky tape. I will upload some pictures of the final product when I get a chance to take a few. How I Designed This OpenSCAD! Everything in this thing was generated using the included 'chess-set-generator.scad'. You can generate your own chess set with your own head by first getting your head as a 3D model. Make your model around 30mm in diameter (or as close as you can get). Next, change the script where it says "headfile="..."" to point to your head STL file. Then select a part to generate by setting the 'part' variable to one of: king, queen, bishop, knight, rook, pawn, pawns, set or board. The script is actually ready for use in the customizer but since you cannot upload STL's it is of limited usefulness there.
