Then slide an M5 or 1/4-20 bolt through the mount hole and again a nut of your choosing. This produces an incredibly stable mount for your dial indicator and enables you to use nifty tools like Open DACT. REMEMBER: A dial indicator will read REVERSE values in Open DACT.
