Summary The frame that I recently purchased came with most of a headset, but no lower race. I drew this up in Rhino then printed it so I could get my bike together. I'll test it when I put some wheels on this thing. disclaimer: This item is not meant for mass consumption yet, it is probably very dangerous.

Nice try :) Did you measure chamfer angle in headset bearing? Most of the manufacturers have different angles varying from 35-65 degrees. Also there is no slot in the crown race, it is very tightly fitted on the tube. But it could work... Let us know if it works! BR.
I measured the angles for the bearings I used, I don't remember what they were. I made this January of 2012 and have been using it since then, so I have plenty of trail miles on it at this point. I wouldn't suggest others use it without knowing what they are doing, but it has worked well for me.
