We work on open source appropriate technology (tagged OSAT on thingiverse) and free and open source scientific hardware -see the Open-Source Lab How to Build Your Own Hardware and Reduce Research Costs.
We wanted something fun to give collaborators that displays some of the capabilities of 3D printers.
Instructions
Load STL(s), resize for your application and print on your favorite open source 3D printer.
I included the openscad to convert to a dualstrusion for those of you with the capability.

Instead, it's there to remind us of our open nature while still being practical and recognizable.
