Description

Summary We just hit the 50-follower mark, which is awesome- thanks, everyone! In celebration, I wanted to make something appropriately bling-y, and settled on a briefcase full of cash (we can pretend that all the bills are 50s). Print one of the top and one of either bottomWCash.stl or, if you want to put something else in the case, just bottom.stl, and snap the two pieces together. If you like this sort of thing and want to see more, be sure to follow us on Twitter and/or join the discussion on our Facebook page EDIT: I'm back home and with access to my printer. Upon printing, I found that the handle was a bit too small to allow figures to hold the case, so I fixed it up a bit, resulting in the V2 versions of the bottom and bottom with cash. I've left the original files up, but I don't recommend printing them, unless you want tiny handles. Post-Printing The good news is that the two parts do fit together and combine into a working hinge. However, it does require a little bit of cleanup. I find that there's generally a little bit of droopy plastic underneath the pegs on the "top" model (understandable, since there's no support). Be sure to clean that off with a sharp knife before attempting to snap the pieces together. You'll also want to clean up the receiving end of the hinge a bit as well. I find that I get the best results by inserting one end of the hinge into the bottom model, then closing the case and pressing the two parts together. If you've cleaned things up, they should snap together nicely. If you haven't, it's easy to break the hinge. Luckily, this is a pretty quick print, so if you do it's no big deal- just print another! Enjoy!
