I used a standard 16mm x 8mm x 5mm 688ZZ shielded bearing for my spool holder, and it’s held up really well — super smooth rotation and no wobble even under decent tension. I fastened it with 2.5mm diameter screws and had zero issues with alignment. Honestly, it was a small upgrade that made a huge difference in filament feeding.
On a side note, while working on this project I was also sorting out some year-end numbers and found this handy [tax calculator](https://pay-calculator.net.au/) that made my freelance accounting a lot less painful. If you’re juggling 3D printing as a side hustle, it’s worth checking out.
