Description
This is my take on the heavy duty surgical mask band 'ear saver' device.
The center has been cut out and fillets added to the 'hooks' to make them stronger.
Design changes were made with printing in mind to minimize hard corners in order to decrease print time. Result is about 8 minute faster print time compared to the original popular mask band. print at 90% size for a more flexible band. We have printed over 200 of these for donations to local nurses.

I have printed up about 10 of these so far, and they work! I tested it myself, and my wife tested it too. It does relieve the pain / pressure a face mask puts on the ears. It did bend a little bit to the curve of my head, but that is okay, still works great (even better that way). I am surprised to learn that PLA is that flexible when it is thin enough (I thought it was a fairly rigid substance based on the thicker prints I have previously done). It seems to be at just the right amount of flexibility. Thank you for making this available, hopefully it will do some good! Just loop your mask to this, then slide it over your head (or loop it on), and still have the top mask strings rest gently on your ear to keep it in place!
Would I be allowed to sell the 3D prints of this commercially, as long as I list you as the designer?
