Description

3D printed exoskeleton hands that I made for a bit of fun.

If you want to, you can watch a video of it in use

DESCRIPTION

CLICK HERE & READ THE MANUAL BEFORE PRINTING

I designed the hand using ABS plastic the more infill the stronger the hand but the longer the print time. The entire hand will take approximately 18 hours in total and cost about $8.00 in plastic (at 4 cents a gram). All parts were printed on my Up Plus 2 with 14cm x 15cm x 15cm build volume. There are also a lot of metal screws that you need to hold all of the printed parts together. I used sheet metal self tapper pan screws 8G x 9mm.

These comments are so old not sure if it's even worth replying, try and print it again on its side? Hope you got it to work all those years ago.

The instructions are incorect, 20 ring & panel joint link pins are needed to fully construct both hands, the instructions say that you only need 2 pins

Thanks for picking this up, I noticed after I converted to PDF and uploaded. Too much work now to go back and update the doco, I hope people are smart enough to work out the typo after they read the whole document.

Hi. I have a question. Wrist lock pin does not fit the holes. Should I grind it or print a little bit smaller ?

Alex Czech over 8 years ago

I would try sanding it down first. If that is taking to long print another one with a little bit smaller dimensions.

What screws / nuts / bolts will I need to assemble this? It would be great for holloween and I plan to purchase the whole set

Alex Czech almost 9 years ago

Hey geneticcheatah I used sheet metal self tapper screws 8G x 9mm. You can print all of the nuts and bolts so you just need to buy the screws and some washers.
