Openbuild c-beam makita RT700 bracket
Free

Designed a new Makita RT700 router for my Openbuild C-beam cnc as I do not like the original bracket. There was too much slack and movement in the original bracket, which meant that I had major problems milling aluminum.

After I mounted the new bracket, it was noticeably stiffer and I managed to mill aluminum on the first try. See picture of test milling on scrap plate.

print settings: Material: PLA Top layer: 4 Bottom layer: 4 Perimeter: 4 infill: 35% layer height 0.2 mm

Hardware: 4 EA Bolts belonging to the angles of the original bracket 4 EA M6 x 60 mm DIN912 umbraco head bolts 4 EA M6 locknut 2 mm rubber cloth

Assembly: * Insert 4 EA M6 locknut (the hole pattern is a bit narrow so that when the nut is fitted they do not move) * Use original bolts to attach bracket to z axis * Cut 2 mm rubber cloth to fit the height of the bracket and almost a full round around the Makita RT700 * Fit 4 EA M6x60 bolts through front clamp, screw M6 bolts slightly into M6 nut mounted in clamp part mounted on z axis. * Take the rubber cloth and fold it around the Makita RT700, put the Maktia RT700 with the rubber cloth down in the bracket. Tight M6x60 bolts for Maktia RT700 are tightened in the bracket.
