Summary Please feel free to donate through PayPal to jeeplvr2000@yahoo.com and I will keep the designs coming Allows Da Vinci 1 user to adapt a complete MK8 extruder and hot end into the Da Vinci 1 3D printer.
You will need fully machined hardened X-axis shafts if you use linear roller steel bearings instead of the brass Davinci bearings.
UPDATE 3/26/16 Belt grip can be glued into place with acetone if you print with ABS. I added three screws to secure the belt.
UPDATE 4/24/15 Added a carriage STL for usage of the original Da Vinci bushings
UPDATE 3/24/15 7:15 pst. Downloads after this time have the updated carriage for better heater clearance.
UPDATE: The hot end can be rotated to any direction to clear the carriage. Most MK8 hotends have an insulated barrier around the heater block also. Instructions Heater block can be rotated 90 dg for better carriage clearance. Round bearing hole is 15.4mm, half bearing hole is 15.2mm for better fitment of 15mm linear bearings.

Will this work with the 1.0 Pro? It has the worst filament drive setup I've ever seen... pushing filament through a 10-inch tube, pushed by a stepper motor located at the top/rear of the case. It has given me nothing but problems, so I'm looking to remedy the situation.
I'm not familiar with the Pro 1.0. If the carrier has the same footprint as a version 1.0 then it should fit, but I cant tell you if it would work or not.
Hi,
Can you give me a link to he extruder that you have in your pics please??
Thanks
Are you talking about the picture on this page? If so, you can simply download it.
Sorry for my misunderstanding. The extruder is an MK8 and they are plentiful on Ebay.
