SummaryThe Mooshimeter (https://moosh.im/) is a very cool bluetooth dual-channel multimeter that uses your smartphone as a remote display.
The Zortrax M200 is a superb 3D printer, but it does not offer user-adjustable extrusion or bed temperature control, limiting use to the manufacturer's proprietary materials and profiles.
The Z-Temp (http://www.z-temp.co) is a third-party add-on device for the M200 that provides extrusion temperature control, bed heat control, and real-time color-coded display of approximate extruder temperature. The Z-Temp also includes a connector to the M200's buffered, compensated, and linearized thermocouple signal, which can be connected to an external multimeter to indicate exact (to within the thermocouple's tolerance) extruder temperature.
The Mooshimeter, therefore, is an ideal complement to the M200+Z-Temp combination, allowing remote wireless monitoring of extruder temperature. Simply multiply the voltage from the connector by 200 and you have temperature in degrees centigrade: in the photo the meter is reading 1.05 Volts, so the extruder temperature is 210º C.
All that's needed is a nice holder/mount for the Mooshimeter, hence this Thing. Two 1/4 x 3/8" neodymium magnets from K&J Magnetics (https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D46-N52) snap right onto any of the pairs of bolt heads around the M200's frame. It's on the side of the printer in the photo, but if this interferes with side panel covers you may have installed, there are bolt pairs in the rear that work fine.
This Thing is itself an example of printing in a material that cannot be used with the M200 without the Z-Temp: it was printed in Colorfabb PLA/PHA at 205ºC, providing a strong, warp-and-split-free part despite its relatively thin walls.
Here's a video of the M200 printing PLA thanks to Z-Temp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUr7MPeyxK8
