It doesn't work due to the fan being created to be energy efficient and go in one direction, this won't work well. But if you fix the gear teeth at the bottom and instead place a gear then connect it to a DC motor with High KV, i.e. (quadcopter motors), would work great as they take in high power and can handle high RPM and are built for a beating.
