Description
Shot through the head, exploded, burnt, zombie-fied and decayed… this old Army dude took a lickin’ just to make you the perfect skull necklace pendant. Thank the veterans for all they have given, to bring you great little things like this.
Prints in about 40 minutes and cleans up quickly, using just a little bit of support for the hat brim. Solid, except for that gaping hole in his head. Fits chains up to 6mm when printed at 100% scale. This high resolution model scales up nicely to any size you need.
You can buy this already printed here.

Hi! Could you explain your process in designing this? Did you 3D scan a model and modify, or build from scratch?
I make everything from scratch in Blender. This model evolved over several projects. I kept improving it, really fixing flaws and finally got something that works. I find the best approach is to model in fairly lo resolution and to add resolution using modifiers, so you only have fewer 'control' points. There's a long list of 'secrets' to making this actually work. I'm getting better at ending up with good geometry right out of Blender, but still sometimes pipe output through Netfabb basic to fix-up the few glitches that get through.
