SummaryThis is a new back cover for the Raspberry Pi camera case (from

The LEDs shown are 6x high power IR LEDs: https://www.adafruit.com/product/387
As shown the LEDs are meant to be driven by 5 volts and are wired as
two independent sets of 3x LEDs in series. The anode (longer leg) of
a LED is directly soldered to the adjacent LED cathode (shorter leg).
A 5V voltage source (like from the Raspberry Pi 5V output) is applied
to the anode of the top LED and a 24 ohm 1/4 watt resistor is soldered
in series from the cathode of the bottom LED down to ground. This
will drive each set of 3x LEDs with about ~30-50mA of current for a
total of ~60-100mA for both sets.
Do not omit the resistors! You can increase the resistance value to
lower the current and dim the LEDs, but be careful decreasing the
resistance as it will pull more current and potentially damage the Pi
or burn out the resistors.
