A dharma doll is a traditional Japanese figurine depicting the founder of Zen and is considered a talisman of good luck. The eyes of Daruma are often blank when sold. The recipient fills one eye in upon setting the goal or wish and the other upon fulfilling it. In this way, every time seeing the doll, the owner recalls the goal.
