This design allows for remotes to be stabilized on a surface so they can be used without them flipping over. This concept can be applied to any remote, however these brackets were designed for the Roku 3 remote, a commonly used remote in my household that cannot be used without holding it. So I figured that it would be close to impossible for someone with limited use of their hands to operate such a device such as the Roku or any other appliance with a remote.
