triclaw apple picker - rubber band upgrade
Free
Summary After printing the triclaw apple picker I couldn't find any spring matching the requirements. Mine were all either too small or too strong. So I made this version using rubber bands instead. It includes a new version of the slider post, and a small hook. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Kossel XL Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 40 Notes: Print the hook 3 times and the slider post once. The post replaces the original one, the hooks are additional. I used a brim for better print adhesion & quality of the first layers, but it's not strictly necessary. Post-Printing Place the slider post the way it's intended. Fix the hook using the existing screw holes. You might need slightly longer screws than before. rubber bands For best results, you take very small, strong rubber bands. Mine are 28mm long, as shown in the picture, and i had to take them twice around to fit. so the best rubber band would be about 1,5cm long.
