 The Orbe Persistence Of Vision V1.0

This is the first prototype of a fully 3D printed, spherical persistence of vision, two color (red and green) display. 

Works using mains AC power + an AC to DC PSU, which powers two main circuits: one rotation controller, which uses an Attiny85 and a RC ESC, and a LED controller, which is on the rotating sphere.

Power to rotating part is provided by two pairs of carbon, sprint held, brushes, touching  two copper rings. 

Sphere is made by two arms, holding 15 LEDs each. On the center of the sphere and Arduino/Genuino MKR1000 and 4 74H595 shift registers control the LEDs. A 74LS14 (trigger smith) is also included for processing rotation signal, from a hall-effect sensor.

Printed Parts

The whole body and structure has been 3D printed using a BQ Witbox, in orange and black PLA.
