This design supports the Evolution lesson plan also attached. Essentially get students to evolve new 'mouthparts' to test out, and see if they can evolve to be the best food collector. Will students survive? Will their new mouth help or hinder their ability to live and reproduce? What are the costs/benefits to their new mouth?
With 'snap-on' parts, minimise extra 3D printing for your classroom, students need only add to or modify the design files provided to have a new working mouth. "ScoopArm" is provided as a demonstration of something students may be able to do to.
