Shrunk and cut the bolt, angled, merged to two stacked nuts, and, Voilà - which is French for... "and then I found out," - a Vive Lighthouse Tripod Angle Screw.

[UPDATE]: After a few months, these broke when moving them. This should be a TEMPORARY solution while you find metal. The vibration from the units may wear these down over time.
