This is an experiment I made using 10 curves stacked vertically and then moved horizontally to equally spaces positions around a circle. The net result of this positions the 10 curves along a vertical circular helix. The final shape results from using the 10 curves as control curves for a Loft surface.This 36 second video gives a better view of the finished print.

I may be able to come up with a more functional shape using this technique. But maybe not.
