These models print FAST and use less filament because they are designed to be printed in Spiral Vase Mode (aka Spiralize Outer Contour). Compared to another conventionally printed hex drawer system, it prints in 1/4 of the time and uses 1/3 of the filament for the same volume of drawer space.
These prints are surprisingly strong due to the use of the dovetail joints on the enclosures and ribs in the drawers. Use the provided side supports and/or "feet" to give the sides strength.
I have tested and refined this design by printing over 100 parts until I thought it was ready to share with you. This has been tested with Cura 4.4 and Slic3r 1.3. Since the tolerances depend on the thickness of the walls generated by the slicer I recommend printing with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.4mm line width in your slicer settings. Instructions for Spiral Vase mode printing are included a PDF file.
Before purchasing this model you can test the fit by printing the free model: Mini Modular Small Parts Drawers. The Hex drawers can interlock above or below the Vase Mode Modular Small Parts Drawers.
Recommended nozzle: 0.4 mm (and 0.4 mm line width setting) Maximum build volume: 80 x 90 x 150 mm.
Special Slicer Setting:
- Cura: Spiralize Outer Contour
- Slic3r: Sprial Vase
